Despite being a relatively smaller school, with 62 pupils from Year 3 to 13, we are nevertheless always busy and vibrant. No school day is ever the same, with each one providing new challenges and opportunities for all. Effective teaching and learning is at the core of what we do; our pupil numbers mean that we are able to offer all individuals the tailored support that they require to develop, mature and succeed.
Our school day formally begins at 8.45 with tutor registration. As part of our learning partnership it is important that pupils are ready and well prepared for each day. Parents need to ensure that pupils enjoy a good healthy breakfast, are punctual to school transport, maintain a tidy, complete uniform and attend lessons correctly equipped.
Whilst we follow the national Focus curriculum we also retain the flexibility to ensure that individual needs are met. Our Junior Department operates via blocked study sessions, with combined Year 3/4 and 5/6 classes, whereas our Senior Department works daily to six periods of fifty minute lessons, underpinned by a broad and varied curriculum, working in collaboration with other Focus schools where appropriate.
Our school day formally ends at 14:55, giving students a little extra afternoon time to complete homework’s and continue studies at home.
