Pupil numbers a Newtown Campus mean that all individuals are well known and well supported. We are acutely aware that despite being a close knit school community it’s the individuals within it that matter and will drive the difference. Each pupil has their own skill set and as such can be positively supported with regard to their unique ability and preferred learning style.
Pupils enjoy a friendly and productive learning environment; peer support is a strong feature both within and across all year groups.
‘Focus School Newtown Campus is a good school, where all pupils make at least good progress in their learning and achieve good standards in their work.’
‘Pupils display good self-knowledge, self-esteem and self-confidence. They are aware of the need to take responsibility of their own behaviour and behave very well in class and around the school. They also showed respect for and interest in other cultures.’
‘Pupils are well cared for, like and trust their teachers, have someone they can go to if they have a problem and feel safe in the school.’

As a school we have a priority to listen to the voices of our pupils. An active School Council, led by our Head Prefects, comprises representatives from each year group, meeting regularly to discuss and recommend action to improve the school. Our Junior and Senior School Council’s work collaboratively where they can.
